We are waiting on information from Ontario Parks (as of May 26th) to see if it’s possible to reschedule this trip for the summer of 2020. Please stay tuned. And send us an e-mail (form below) if you’re keenly interested in this trip.
Our hiking trips are an experiment with this paradox: how do you pair present moment mindfulness with the work of striving towards a goal?
Whether it’s a steep ascent to the next big viewpoint or a lakeside campsite to call home, we’ll move towards our destinations with intention. At a pace that gives space for the benefits of being in nature to make their presence known.
On the first day of this trip, we’ll sort through all our clothing, food and equipment to make sure we have everything we need and not a whole lot more. Then we’ll balance our packs and take our first few satisfying steps with the sweet simplicity of having everything we need on our backs.
On hiking trips there is always a measure of challenge. By nature it serves up the exact kind of adversity that makes the view from the top of a hill so sweet. You’ll feel the kind of strength that only flows from a measure of struggle. And then you’ll drop your bag, unlace your boots and bask in the depth of ease that only follows effort.
